A solid fourteen carat gold and real bamboo retractable pencil by the luxury atelier, Cartier.  This piece was part of a select number of items that Cartier made in this combination of mixed materials. They used a wonderful 'scorched' piece of bamboo which compliments very well the rich colour of the yellow gold.

The pencil has a twisting grip area that feeds more lead to the pencil when required. The end cap, also made of solid gold, detaches to hold extra lead. There is one spare lead included in this space.  This more unusual version comes with the gold pocket clip on the body.

The pencil is fully signed 'Cartier' along with the fourteen carat gold mark on the top of the end piece. The piece was made in America circa 1940's, and is in excellent working order.  Lead can still be ordered for it, making for an excellent gift for any artist, draftsman, architect or designer.
